- Our Home Isn't Portland's Playground
Skamania County is unique, and our community deserves to maintain its identity. While we welcome visitors, we must ensure that our home is enjoyed responsibly, not being abused. I will work to protect our local culture, prioritize the needs of our residents, and preserve the character of our communities. Additionally, it is crucial to generate revenue from visitors to offset the impact their presence has on our infrastructure and fiscal resources. By implementing strategies to capture this revenue, we can better support our local infrastructure and ensure that our community thrives. Our home is special – let’s keep it that way.
- Economic Expansion
A thriving local economy benefits us all. I aim to foster responsible economic growth that brings jobs and opportunities to Skamania County. By supporting small businesses, encouraging sustainable tourism, and attracting new investments, we can build a resilient economy that works for everyone. Let’s create a prosperous future together.
- Fiscal Management
Sound fiscal management is the backbone of a strong community. I will implement prudent financial practices to ensure that taxpayer money is used efficiently and effectively. My goal is to reduce waste, prioritize essential services, and invest in projects that offer the greatest benefit to our residents. Together, we can achieve financial stability and growth.
- Human Capital
Our greatest asset is our people. To harness the full potential of the County, we need to create county-wide goals while establishing metric-based accountability for employees to ensure we are moving in the right direction. These measures will allow the community to assess the success of its elected officials and ensure that we are all working towards a common vision. Let’s build a community where everyone has the chance to succeed and where our leaders are held accountable for their performance.
